Oxford is a historic small town located in Sumner County, Kansas on Highway 160 with a population of approximately 1,000 residents. Oxford has been named a TREE CITY USA since 1992. The town site sits on the west bank of the Arkansas River. Cave Park is located on the east side of town, and offers a playground area for children, a covered shelter, and a public access, paved boat ramp to the Arkansas River.     With 4th of July fast approaching here are some quick reminders around fireworks.  Per city code fireworks are only allowed within city limits July 1st-July 4th.  Those days fall during the week this year meaning, fireworks can only be discharged until 10pm.  If you need to report fireworks being discharged after 10pm please call 911 and report it as a non emergency.   Remember to stay safe while having fun this 4th of July!
